RetroShader CRT Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

RetroShader CRT applies configurable CRT visual effects to web videos. All processing takes place locally in your browser.

Information processed

The extension accesses video elements, video frames, captions and player layout information to render and position the visual effect. Video and caption content is processed temporarily and is not saved as recordings or uploaded.

The extension reads the current website hostname to support its per-site enable/disable feature. Domains where you disable the effect are saved locally. It does not maintain a chronological browsing history or record page titles and visit times.

Local storage

RetroShader CRT uses chrome.storage.local to save your selected preset, visual adjustments, display settings, enabled state, comparison mode and disabled-site domains. It does not use Chrome Storage Sync.

Sharing and tracking

The extension does not transmit this information to the developer or third parties. It contains no analytics, tracking services or advertising integrations. It does not collect passwords, payment information or personal identity information.

Purpose and limited use

Information is used solely to provide the extension’s CRT video effects and related controls. RetroShader CRT complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is not sold, used for personalised advertising or used for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Your controls

You can change preferences and re-enable individual websites through the extension popup. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension storage.
